TX: Closing Sex Offender Loophole

SAN ANTONIO – A state lawmaker says he’s making good on his promise to close a loophole in Texas law that could put children of sex offenders in danger. You would think that a convicted sex offenders’ parental rights would be revoked, but that’s not always the case. And it took a brave woman coming forward to the Trouble Shooters to get lawmakers at the State Capitol to take action. Full Article

This is frightening. There ARE sentencing laws and parole conditions that take crimes into consideration, but a blanket approach to assigning or denying visitation to parents solely for being on the sex offender register will only complicate children’s lives. The first thing that comes to mind is that there will be an accellerated uptick in false sex abuse charges by women whom wish to punish their ex’s, as the totality of the charge won’t be investigated.

This is strictly punitive, based upon the same emotional response of sheeple in general. Unfortunately, this law will overwhelmingly pass, and it will take lawsuits to ultimatelly get this law overturned…VERY EXPENSIVE lawsuits.

So ‘unsupervised visits’ in this case but does that mean a sex offender can’t be a parent at all? Or needs permission?

In a regular two parent house it’s not uncommon for a parent to be ‘unsupervised’ with their child.

This is BS and I hope it either doesn’t pass or someone sues.

Carlos Uresti, delinquent father and Texas State Senator from San Antonio that is proposing this unneeded bill to stop unsupervised visits from a parent who is a registrant is a father of a son who did 4 DUI’s. Carlos Uresti Jr.’s first 3 DUI’s didn’t get filed or were dismissed, so Carlos Jr, would not be disqualified from joining the military. The last one however, he did get convicted of. Carlos Jr. got the benefit of his dad’s connections on the first 3 cases however. The 3rd one involved Carlos Jr. on a high speed chase going over 90 mph and turning his car lights off to evade capture. The first incident Carlos Jr. crashed his Lexus into a tree, fled and falsely claimed the car was stolen, but later admitted filing a false police report. Maybe Carlos Uresti needs to crack down on DUI’s which kill more people than Texas SO’s and start in his own house.
